Marble table tops are not suitable to be screwed into directly. Usually, a marble table-top will come with a fixing plate made of MDF or plywood. You can then easily screw the table base directly into the fixing plate, which is glued to the table top.

How do our production line attach a plywood plate to a marble table top?

Step 1 Get the marble

To start with attaching plywood piece to a marble top,we should get the polished marble piece ready first.

Step 2 Measure and mark the specific position for connection

Measure and mark the specific position of the fixed plywood on marble, so that it’s perfectly integrate with marble. They must fit perfectly, or they will look sloppy.

Step 3 Apply the adhesive

Depending on glue we are using, it’s better to ensure that we are working in a well-ventilated are.Wear work gloves when using the adhesive to keep them off the hands.Ensuring that the wood and the marble are cleaned will make gluing them together much easier.  Add a light coat of glue to both ends of the marble and of the plywood, let dry before gluing to one other. Once those are dry and attach. make sure you clean any excess glue immediately.

The marble top is very heavy and fragile. We will need to safely carry it. Place a blanket or smooth cardboard on your flat, non-abrasive work surface to protect the marble. When  removing the marble from the packaging, ensure that it is removed vertically on its long edge.  Using your four person crew, position one person at either end of the marble tabletop, and one person on either side of the midsection. Place the marble top as close as possible to the final desired location, then while two people support the  mid section to prevent bowing, very gently and carefully lower it into position onto the wooden frame.
